VAT rises to 20% from 4th January 2011. Most of our customers can get VAT relief on most items. However, certain items are not eligible and while we're holding our prices, the total item cost will rise. If you have any questions regarding price rises, please do not hesitate to ask.

All funds raised go towards supporting Burns Survivors in the United Kingdom - this small but extremely effective Charity was set up to make something good out of the Bali Bombings which killed over 200 people & injured hundreds more. Among those killed was Dan Miller, Polly's husband of five weeks, together with the rest of their party of 10. Polly herself suffered 43% body burns & therefore knows well the physical & psychological trauma of burns. To learn more see www.dansfundforburns.org.

Spokz People is a new charity providing psychological services for people with disabilities, their partners and healthcare professionals. They offer counselling, support groups, courses and workshops on confidence, assertiveness, relationships and body image. They also have a free online forum where you can ask questions about disability, relationships and sex. This week they launched a disability therapy directory, so you can find coaches, counsellors and sex therapists with disability experience in your area. Some services are available nationally and other currently available within Midlands.

Hratch died unexpectedly on Friday, 16 July. This news comes with the assurance that he gave everyone the tools they need to continue to improve their lives. His immense presence will be missed by all those who crossed his path.

Phew.. what a week! I was delighted to talk to so many people at the Mobility Roadshow. Weather was great, lots of stands and seemed to be a great success. For many of you, it was an opportunity to SEE and buy our wheelchair jeans (and other products) in the flesh - and what an appreciative reception! Glad you like!!

Brighter Future Workshop is a registered charity which recycles, services and repairs mobility scooters. We train young disabled and disadvantaged people who are disengaged from the learning process e.g. wheelchair users or people with learning difficulties; supervised by a specialist staff. Trainees use donated electric mobility equipment to learn both mechanical and electrical fault finding within a working environment, gaining life skills.

Here is a great website for ideas promoting an active life & independence. Lots of Tips and Tricks from People with Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI). There is also information about where to get the devices and who paid for them. Reading many of the tips one quickly realises many people could benefit from this site.. not just those living with SCI
